Venus Square Pluto And The Pursuit Of Love
The Monster makes a new friend
Venus square Pluto is in effect now, is exact on Sunday, and will influence most of next week. This is a challenging aspect whether it's in the birth chart or happening in the sky at the moment. In either case, it can make for profound longings for love and affection and food and money... so profound that you might find yourself going to unusual lengths to get it.
There is a scene in the 1931 Frankenstein that was removed because it was considered too disturbing to audiences and was not restored until the 1980s. In that scene, The Monster is walking through the woods and comes across a little girl named Maria. She is sitting by the side of a lake with her cat.
The Monster stumbles out of the woods and surprises her a little, at first. She seems a bit wary, but she quickly warms up to the unusual stranger and introduces herself. The Monster (himself only a few days old at this point, if you think about it) seems a little surprised that someone is reacting to him as nicely as Maria is being to him. So far in his short life, the reactions he has gotten from people have ranged from repulsion to fear. The Monster now has a friend.
Maria has The Monster sit down with her by the side of the lake where she is picking flowers. She gives a few of them to The Monster. "I can make a boat!" she says as she tosses one of the flowers into the lake, where it floats.
She gives a few of the flowers to The Monster so he can do the same. He is pleased by this. No one has ever shown him this kind of attention before.
But then The Monster runs out of flowers and appears confused about what to do next. Wanting to share the excitement he has found with his new friend...
...He picks her up and throws her into the lake, where she drowns.
With Venus square Pluto in your birth chart, if someone loves you, you may be worried that they don't love you enough. If you are pursuing someone, you may simply pursue them too hard, unintentionally scaring them away rather than winning them over.
If you have this aspect in your birth chart, beware of misusing it. Beware of applying too much force when it comes to finding your Venus-related bliss. You may need to learn an important life lesson about letting love come to you rather than simply hunting it down.
Even if you don't have this aspect in your birth chart, you should be cautious in the next week about being too demanding about everything related to Venus. Keep in mind that if this transit is not affecting your chart all that strongly, it will undoubtedly be doing something or other to someone near you.
Relax. Let the romance and the finance and the doughnuts find you. Otherwise, you may risk breaking something (or someone) that you did not intend to break.
