Astrology Alert: August 21-27, 2023

It's a great week for romance! Well, okay, it's a great week for romance if your conception of romance comes largely from watching romantic comedies. You know, the sort of thing where boy meets girl in a cute manner, there are complications, there's at least one shrewish and/or self-absorbed significant other to be disposed of, something leads to an improbable last-minute rush to the altar on a lawn tractor, then everyone lives happily ever after.
Well... everyone other than the shrewish and/or self-absorbed significant other. Those folks are usually pretty boned by the end of these things. So make sure you're not that person instead of one of the romantic leads. And keep in mind that some romantic itches, need to be cultivated slowly, and other romantic itches may require antibiotics.
Make your choices wisely, because on Tuesday, Venus square Leo is exact. Keep in mind Venus is still retrograde, so double your precautions. For one thing, if your romantic imaginings involve an ex? That ex is probably your ex for a reason.
That's one of the two aspects making for potentially wonky romance this week. The other one is also exact on Tuesday: Mars in Virgo is opposite Neptune. This aspect can cast a lot of glamour over a situation that may not necessarily need it. It can make you and/or someone else seem particularly compelling and charming. But when you combine these two aspects it doesn't look very good for clear-headed decisions.
Of course, if you are a romantic fool (as I have been for much of my life), that's just going to be part of the challenge. Knock yourself out, buddy.
On Wednesday, two significant events happen. First of all, the Sun enters Virgo. Secondly, Mercury, the planet that rules Virgo, goes retrograde. Don't say I didn't try to warn you this was coming, okay?
Also having Mercury Retrograde, plus being the ruler of the Sun, both being in the same Sign? Now is a good time to take a look at your birth chart and find out which House is Virgo. Take matters related to that house and double down on the caution and proofreading.
Now it's all fine and well for me to sit back on my astrological throne and tell you to be extra cautious, especially with your love life given that Venus and Mars are going through a relatively difficult time. I know: restraint is kind of boring and not fun and no one makes entertaining movies about it.
Finally, on Sunday, Mars enters Libra, bringing with it a whole new batch of interpersonal drama. More on that next time.

I promise you I'll get around to writing about the Void of Course Moon here at some point, just make sure you don't start or complete any important actions during those times. Like for example, throwing yourself at some charming stranger in the bar.
